Tips to Keep Hormones in Balance

Hormonal issues have become a significant problem, especially in the last decade. In recent years, it has become more common for women to suffer from hormonal imbalances, which can be very hard on our health and our skin.

It can be challenging to pinpoint the exact cause of hormone imbalance, as it varies by person. These imbalances can be caused by diet, genetic makeup, and even chemicals and pollutants that we eat and breathe every day.

Luckily, they are some simple, natural ways to keep our hormones in balance.

Avoid sugar

There is a lot of scientific evidence that supports the idea that sugar plays a massive role in disturbing our hormone production, including insulin and cortisol. This is why it is vital to limit sugar in your diet.

Avoid dairy

Dairy is a big part of our diet. From cream in morning coffee to yogurt and cheese. Dairy disturbs our hormonal balance. Some studies have shown the effects dairy has on our ovulation.

Not to mention that most dairy products come from animals that were most likely injected with extra hormones to speed up growth or milk production, which adds even more hormones. Luckily, there are many dairy alternatives!

Get enough sleep

Getting a comfortable, good night’s sleep is crucial for good hormone production in our bodies. Not only does it allow our cells to rest and rejuvenate, but it also aids in the production of cortisol and flushes out toxins, including excess hormones.

Exercise

You probably heard this a thousand times by now, but exercising is good for your health. You get the best of both a sound body and a healthy mind.

While working out helps you stay in shape, it burns fat cells, which are usually where toxins and hormones are stored, boosts your immune system and anti-inflammatory hormones.

Eat healthy

Eating healthy doesn’t always mean depriving yourself. It’s essential to keep a healthy balance in your diet for healthier hormone production. Don’t eat too much or too little. Instead, do your best to incorporate as many organic fruits and vegetables as you can.

Meditate

Meditation is helpful to keep you relaxed and can naturally help you chase away your stress, which is a big factor in hormonal imbalances. Meditation, yoga, aromatherapy, or even breathing sessions can make a difference in the production of cortisol and adrenaline.

Consider supplements

Some supplements have been proven to help with hormonal issues.

Studies have shown that taking some natural supplements such as Maca or fennel flower seeds have been proven to help with estrogen-related issues and even help early menopause.
