Who says you should ditch crawling completely once you start walking? According to some fitness experts, breaking out a crawl regularly could be the best thing you do for your health. In fact, with the crawl like a baby fitness craze sweeping the nation, don’t think it’s unusual when you see a lot more adults getting on all fours and moving around.

The New Fitness Craze
Original Strength, a fitness company based out of North Carolina has spearheaded the crawl like a baby trend with the belief that all we have to do is return back to the most fundamental human movements such as crawling. You’ll be undoing years of bad postural habits.

How It Works
Those who participate are expected to perform movements such as rock, roll, squat and crawl for a prolonged period of time. This is to build solid muscle mass.  Supposedly, your body will rediscover the mobility it once had when you were a child. It’s touted to be strength training at its finest.

Benefits of A Strong Core
Building strength in your core area means several benefits ranging from improved posture and more flexibility to decreased chances of back injuries.

If you do decide to try this, start on all fours and hold your head straight forward. Then, crawl for anywhere between 3 and 10 minutes.  There’s nothing to lose by giving this a shot. No equipment or gym membership necessary. Just you and a floor. Done regularly, you’ll be taking your body through a full workout.
