Spring 2022 Color Trends

As we enter year three of the pandemic, things may not always feel overly bright or warm. But Spring 2022 fashion is about to change that. Pantone, Etsy, and WGSN have released their color predictions for the upcoming season, and they are rich, bold, and optimistic. If you’re struggling wearing “real” clothes because you are still working from home, we think these colors may change your mind.

Pantone Color of the Year 2022: Very Peri

Much like the name implies, Very Peri is a beautiful shade of periwinkle that Pantone describes as “blending the faithfulness and constancy of blue with the energy and excitement of red.” As for the fashion aspect, we predict seeing Very Peri all over handbags, shoes, dresses, and suits. You can see some of our favorite picks here.

WGSN Color of the Year 2022: Orchid Flower

A personal favorite of ours, this bright shade of magenta just screams spring. While we’re already starting to see vibrant pinks in athletic wear, WGSN predicts that Orchid Flower will continue to be popular among athleisure, swimwear, home decor, and even beauty. If you’re a sucker for magenta, you’ll want to get your hands all over this color!

Etsy Color of the Year 2022: Emerald Green

Etsy has predicted that this calming, deep jewel tone will be everywhere this year. “Symbolizing harmony and growth, along with royalty and refinement, emerald green is the perfect color to remind us to find balance this year,” says Etsy trendsetter Dayna Isom Johnson. “We’re already seeing shoppers looking for ways to incorporate this hue, with searches for emerald green items up 64 percent and emerald green decor up 60 percent.” Because of its refined, rich hue, we expect to see emerald green especially popular in evening dresses and jumpsuits.

Pantone has a few more fashion color predictions this spring. Let’s have a look!

Pantone Fashion Trend Report: Daffodil

What better color trend for spring than the shade of one of the first flowers we see once the weather starts to change? Pantone describes this shade as having the “spontaneity of a spring garden.” We anticipate that daffodil will be found in just about every fashion category, from athletic wear and swimwear to dresses and monochromatic suits and even in our jewelry and handbags.

Pantone Fashion Trend Report: Coca Mocha

Think of the most glorious cup of coffee out on a terrace on a warm spring morning. That’s how we would describe this shade. We predict Coca Mocha will be a popular color among dresses this spring; it’s also the perfect shade of mocha to incorporate into just about any Bohemian-inspired print.

Pantone Fashion Trend Report: Dahlia

Dahlia is the color for making a statement. Much like emerald, this rich purple is often classified as a “royal” tone. We anticipate seeing it in spring fashion by way of flowy evening gowns, bold statement coats, accent shoes, and handbags that are sure to demand attention in the best way. Dahlia epitomizes the warm, optimistic trend we will be seeing this spring.
