Cue the music. She was working in a bridal shop in Flushing, Queens, ‘til her boyfriend kicked her out in one of those crushing scenes…
Now that we’ve set the scene, we think you know where we’re going with this. The Nanny was an iconic 1990s TV show, and because 2021 trends are an ode to this delightful decade, we’re revisiting a few of our favorite Fran Fine outfits.

First up, we have this two-piece ensemble featuring a bare midriff and a bright, bold printed miniskirt. That’s it. That’s the look. If you prefer a little more coverage, picture it with an oversized jacket in denim or corduroy.

Ahh, the lady in a mod orange daisy print. We love this color and pattern – and the way wide white headband and super-voluminous hair tie this vintage look together. We say, if you come across a two-piece outfit like this, buy it. We love the idea of this button-down paired with bell-bottoms, but we also can see the skirt with a solid long-sleeve tee and booties. One outfit can be worn in so many different ways.

This look is the very definition of iconic. A maxi dress with all-over sequined multicolored stripes? Just think about the number of places you could and should wear this. Let this look be your inspiration for your next gathering or, ya know, a casual coffee date with friends.

This look is a prime example of fashion circling back around: a tie-dye crushed velvet bodysuit paired with a miniskirt, tights, and knee-high boots. Honestly, get your hands on this outfit for fall as soon as you can.

Who even knows what season Fran rocked this outfit, but if anything, it shows us that we can wear whatever we want, no matter the season. Just add tights and over-the-knee boots.

So simple, yet so powerful. Here we have Fran wearing a classic turtleneck sweater with an accent miniskirt. We can only assume she’s rockin’ some pumps, possibly with some sheer tights. This is another look we think you should wear in the upcoming seasons because of how absolutely on point it is with trends we’re seeing today.
This is only a handful of The Nanny-inspired outfits we adore. And if there’s one thing you’ve learned today: Be the lady in red when everybody else is wearing tan.
