We don’t know about you…but we are ready for winter to be over! But unfortunately, many of us still have at least another month of cold weather before spring temperatures appear. So until then, here are a few tips for staying warm this winter.
Rely on Layers
Ditch your thin socks for a pair of warm, fuzzy socks. Wear a long-sleeve shirt under your sweater – or long underwear under your jeans. Layers can be as fashionable as they are effective in keeping you warm. Get creative with your outfits, and be sure to layer up wherever you can.
Heat Your Blankets
Sure, a regular blanket works just fine, but a heated blanket provides you with instant warmth that makes falling asleep a breeze (though it may make getting out of bed in the morning more challenging). There are a variety of heated blanket options available, but we say find one that’s small enough to fit at your desk, so you’re covered at work as well.
Work Things Out
Working out is a great way to warm up your entire body while reducing stress. Building a workout – even a short one – into your daily routine will get your blood flowing and your body warmed. Plus, it can also help boost your immune system.
Cook Some Heat Into the House
While you should never use your oven or stove to heat your entire house, you can rely on them for a little extra warmth in your kitchen. So when you can, avoid the crockpot and use your stove or oven to keep things just a little toastier. After you turn the oven off, leave the door open to allow the heat to escape, rather than trapping it all inside. (Just make sure that small children or pets don’t get too close.)
Heat Your Towels
Lastly, getting out of a hot shower when temperatures are below freezing is a challenge. So rather than stepping out into a cold bathroom, try a heated towel rack or towel warmer. We like Zadro’s Ultra-Large Luxury Towel Warmer ($159.99, shop here). Trust us: It will be worth the investment!
