Olga Dies Dreaming by Xochitl Gonzalez ($27.99, shop here)

This recent release quickly captured hearts…and a contract with Hulu for an adaptation starring Aubrey Plaza. This story centers around two siblings – a celebrity wedding planner and a congressman – and how things begin to fall apart when their mother suddenly comes back into their lives. This book will keep you wanting more as secrets and resentments are uncovered, and the characters finally address the hard truths they’ve hidden away to find success.

The Verifiers by Jane Pek ($17, shop here)

With a release date of February 22, The Verifiers is a unique story about an online dating detective, Claudia, who is no stranger to secrets – her family has no idea that she’s queer or that she doesn’t work in finance. But when one of her clients goes missing, she knows that some secrets need revealing. Part mystery, part family story, The Verifiers explores how technology shapes our decisions and relationships in the Digital Age.

The Candy House by Jennifer Egan ($28, shop here)

Another story about technology, The Candy House follows a famous tech genius as he encounters the idea of externalizing memory – and commercializing it. With “Own Your Unconscious,” buyers can access every memory they’ve ever had, as well as everyone else’s. What would happen to you if every interaction, experience, and secret was put on display? Jennifer Egan’s novel (set for release April 5) offers a glimpse into what can happen when innovation goes too far.

The Devil Takes You Home by Gabino Iglesias ($28, shop here)

How far would you go to keep your family safe? On August 2, you can read about Mario, a man who has been forced to make that decision time and time again. When his daughter gets sick, he is faced with a choice: work as a hitman or run out of ways to pay for much-needed treatments. But when work brings danger to the family he’s trying to save, he has no choice but to accept a new job with a dangerous drug cartel. If he pulls off the impossible, he’ll make enough money to take care of his family once again.
