Hate Fish? Lesser Known Sources Of Omega-3

When it comes to fat, there’s one kind you never want to get rid of: Omega-3 fatty acids. This type of fat is good for your health in many ways. Most people know that you can get it from sources like fish, but there are other places you can get it from too, which you’ll discover in a moment.

It’s good for blood pressure levels, and for reducing joint stiffness and pain. It’s even good for the neurological and visual development in babies. That means you want to consume it as much as possible. Here are some common sources – besides fish – where you can find omega-3:

Seaweed: Seaweed is a great source of iodine as well as omega-3. Some people are opting for algae oil over fish oil supplements due to taste.

Walnuts: A handful of walnuts are a great daily source of omega – 3. They are also good for brain health.

Brussels sprouts: These green veggies are a part of the cruciferous vegetable family and are good for heart health as well.

Hemp seeds: Although not as popular as other members of the seed family, hemp offers a lot of health benefits ranging from arthritis relief and weight loss. They’re also a great source of both omega-3 and omega-6 fatty acids, in addition to special plant proteins.
