Beauty Products You Didn’t Know Existed

Most of us know the basics when it comes to beauty products—foundation, mascara, lipstick, etc. But in the oversaturated beauty market, innovation is key. Creating something new and different is essential for the survival of many brands today.

Some of these beauty products are flying under the radar, and others are just too obscure to catch everyone’s attention, but some are actually pretty genius. Whether it’s a practical product, a confusing product, or even a seemingly unnecessary product, you’ll be surprised to hear about some of these unusual beauty finds.

Scalp Mask

Hair masks are a must-have if you have dry hair or split ends. Scalp scrubs are also becoming a popular item to help with dandruff, dry skin, and product build up, but a newcomer to the hair treatment category is the scalp mask.

Scalp masks come as pre-shampoo or in-shower treatments that help absorb excess scalp oils, soothe irritation, or provide hydration. Just like face masks, there is a lot of variety when it comes to the type of treatment. We have tried both clay masks to reduce oil as well as nourishing masks. Our favorite, the Kristin Ess Daily Scalp + Hair Mask (click here), treats your scalp, roots, and ends all at once.

Butt Serum

Yes, you read that correctly. Butt serums exist. Face serums are all the rage, and for good reason. Your face is the first thing you see when you look in the mirror, it’s some of the most delicate skin on your body, and it’s on display pretty much all the time. But your butt?

The Truly Beauty Buns of Glowry Tighten & Glow Butt Serum (click here) is an all-star product. It claims to firm and lift the butt while strengthening and hydrating the skin. I’m not going to say no to that, but it certainly isn’t on my beauty shopping list. Unless you’re a bikini model, I’m not sure if this is entirely necessary, but the ingredients do seem legit—and I’m sure your boo wouldn’t complain about a little more booty glow.

Anti-Thinning Shampoo

Wigs, extensions, and even hair plugs could be a thing of the past if more people knew you can reduce hair loss and thinning with something as simple as a shampoo.

With over 22k almost 5-star reviews, Pura D’or Anti-Thinning Shampoo (click here) is clearly a bit of a miracle product for anyone struggling with hair loss. The before and after photos alone are enough to click “add to cart.” I don’t even have thinning hair and I want to try it. Who knew a shampoo could do the work of pricey hair loss treatments?

Beauty Spatula

No, this isn’t something that helps you cook or flip makeup. It is a little spatula that lets you get every last drop of product from your beauty products. In fact, it is called the Every Drop Beauty Spatula (click here). Its long handle and small, flexible edge are designed to reach into the lowest corners of your foundation bottle and the deepest crevices of your moisturizer tube.

Never lose half the product you paid for because you can’t reach it. And never store your containers upside down, risking glass breakage or spillage, again. This little tool is especially handy for getting the most out of products packaged in jars. Putting your fingers in a jar of pricey moisturizer introduces bacteria to it, shortening its life span and contaminating the product. After a few weeks with a beauty spatula, you might notice your skin looks clearer than ever!
