There are simple beauty tips you can include in your routine at home that don’t involve any extra products or money. (The more we can save this Holiday season, the better!)
These tips and tricks will make a significant change in your life if you follow them correctly.
Sleep
Having a good night’s sleep is, without a doubt, the most basic and essential thing for you. Getting at least eight hours of sleep every night helps boosts your collagen production, limits and prevents fine lines and wrinkles, and helps your skin stay clear and hydrated. Ever been playing on your phone and look over at your clock and realize its an hour past when you usually go to sleep? Set an alarm to remind you to go to bed!
Nighttime sleep is incredibly important because it is the only time when every cell in your body recuperates, regenerates, and produces healthy cells.
Hydration
Always drink plenty of water. Water is vital for skin cells, and our bodies are made almost entirely of water. Meaning, our cells require it to replenish all the fluids that you lose during the day. Make sure to drink a lot of water because it also rehydrates other organs before it reaches your skin.
This may not be an overnight fix, but it is an essential step to maintain a healthy body and soft, supple skin.
Meditation
Stress, anxiety, and depression have some of the worst effects on your body over time, especially on your skin. Being exposed to stressful situations can damage your skin and make it more likely for your skin to age faster and for your hair to get thinner.
To fight these potential side effects, it’s imperative to find ways to feel calmer, more stable, and at ease. Meditating helps your mind feel relaxed.
Avoiding sun
The skin is the body’s largest organ. We expose ourselves to so much pollution and sunlight throughout our lives!
The sun is the best source for vitamin D, which is excellent for your bones and your skin. But exposing your skin to UV rays for extended periods without using any form of protection can seriously damage your skin. Make sure to avoid sun exposure as much as you can to prevent any dryness or skin aging. Using sunscreen every day is a great way to protect your skin from all the harmful rays.
Change your sheets
Change your sheets regularly and invest in some good quality cotton or silk sheets. Make sure to change them once a week. Chances are you sleep on your pillow and sheets every day for 7 to 8 hours, meaning your face is against dirt, oil, sweat, dead skin cells, and lots of other things that will clog your pores. Good sheets and a good quality detergent make all the difference for your skin to stay clear and your hair to stay shiny and frizz-free!
Avoid touching your face
This last tip is critical to keep in mind because most people forget about it. We are all busy people who tend to get in contact with a lot of bacteria; from public transportation, restaurants, work, and even the people around you.
Avoid touching your face as much as possible!
