Neewollah in Independence, Kansas
Neewollah (Halloween spelled backward) is a celebration in Independence, Kansas, that began in 1919. Modern-day festivities attract thousands to the nine-day festival, which includes three parades, a chili cook-off, a musical, a Queen Neelah pageant, 30-plus food vendors, a large carnival, nightly performances, an arts and crafts show, a band competition, a fun run, and much more.

The Shining Ball in Estes, Colorado
Deep in the heart of the Rocky Mountains, we find ourselves in Estes, Colorado, the city that inspired one of the creepiest movies of all time: The Shining. The annual costumed Shining Ball at the historic Stanley Hotel is the place to be if you love music, dancing, entertainment, and Halloween festivities. This year’s celebrations include DJ Queen C and live percussionist Triple Kick.
