Central Park, New York, NY
Planning to get away this fall? Autumn is a fantastic time to travel throughout North America because most destinations are less crowded, and the weather tends to be mild. In this post, you will find a list of great fall North American vacation destinations and the best things to do in each.
Colorado is an excellent destination in the fall – especially Steamboat Springs and Aspen. If you head over to Steamboat Springs, visit during its annual Restaurant Week (Oct. 7-14, 2023), a culinary celebration any food lover will enjoy. In Aspen, in addition to enjoying nature, we suggest signing up for Aspen’s Darkside Ghost Tour to get into the spirit of the spooky season.
New York City, New York
We are huge fans of visiting New York City during the fall. The air is fresher, and the colors of the leaves are at their peak beauty in city parks. Be sure to visit Gallow Green, a rooftop bar and restaurant at the McKittrick Hotel covered in foliage and greenery, and catch a Broadway show.
Toronto is a wonderful fall destination featuring numerous Michelin-starred restaurants. The best time to experience the city is at the end of September or early October, when the fall foliage is in all its glory, and there’s a lower chance of rain or early snow.
Charleston, South Carolina
Charleston is one of the top locations for a fall vacation. The city is a historic time capsule full of charming neighborhoods. While there, indulge in Southern cuisine at one of the many excellent Southern restaurants, like Virginia’s on King or 82 Queen.
Another Canadian vacation destination: Montréal. If you’re in the city between Oct. 3-21, 2023, you will have the chance to check out Festival Phénomena, which presents cabarets, theatrical and dance performances, puppeteering acts, poetic events, and more. Other fall events include the Pop Montréal Festival (Sept. 27–Oct. 1, 2023) and the Festival du Nouveau Cinéma (Oct. 4-15, 2023). We also encourage you to visit Jean-Talon Market and Atwater Market.
