Warm Fuzzies and Facial Recognition

Oxytocin, aka “the love hormone,” doesn’t just help us bond with our children and partners. According to new research, it’s also involved in our facial recognition skills. Scientists at Emory University have discovered that a third of people have a variation in the oxytocin receptor gene that somehow makes it hard to remember faces. If you find yourself saying, “Oh, hi…you,” with embarrassing frequency, you can now blame it on your genes.
