Sleep Deprivation and Brain Health

In a small Swedish study, men who were sleep-deprived for just one night had higher blood concentrations of a molecule that is known to accumulate in the blood after the loss of brain tissue. The researchers conclude, therefore, that lack of sleep may contribute to neurodegeneration. Add brain health to the already long list of reasons to get ample shut-eye.
