How To Protect Yourself When Swimming In A Lake

Swimming in a lake can be one of the most peaceful experiences. But before you dive in, there are some precautions you should take. Unlike a pool with chlorine, there isn’t any treatment happening to lake water, which increases your chances of picking up a bacteria infection.

However, if you’ve got your heart set on taking a swim in a lake, here are steps you to protect yourself:

1 – Do not get the water in your mouth or eyes.

2 – Do not go for a swim if you have an open wound, cut or infection.

3 – Take a shower as soon as possible afterwards.

And of course, if you see signs of anything strange on your body, go see a doctor immediately.
