What’s the average span of your friendships? 5 years, 10 years? Longer? As you move throughout life, it’s normal to have different friendships with people based on where you are in your own life at that time. But, how do you know when it’s time to find new friends?
What’s interesting is that many people don’t think about this. They either hold on to the friends they’ve had forever, even if the friendship is toxic. Or, they have no friends at all….aka they become loners.
There’s an old saying that you are the average of the 5 people you hang around most. So, this is a topic you shouldn’t take lightly.
To help you recognize when it’s time to find new friends, take a look at these 3 signs:
- You feel out of place or awkward when you talk to your friends. Or, you feel like there is something missing.
- You don’t have very much in common with them anymore.
- They don’t encourage, or inspire you to be your best.
Always be aware of who you surround yourself with and never be afraid to make changes as you grow as a person.
