Coffee and Hydration

Contrary to popular belief, drinking coffee won’t make you dehydrated. A study published in PLOS ONE found that java junkies who drank four cups of black coffee a day were just as hydrated as when they were drinking water. That said, this isn’t license to quit water completely. Coffee is still a diuretic, so—especially if you’re not used to it—it’s going to make you pee more than you normally would, and it’s certainly not enough to power your body through a trip to the gym.
