Like clockwork, every September and February, New York Fashion Week brings together some of the world’s hottest designers to showcase their latest spring and fall collections. While each designer has their own unique taste and style, Fashion Week reveals shared themes that inevitably dominate trends in the coming year. Here are some of our favorite trends from the Spring and Fall 2022 NYFW runways!
One-Sleeved Looks

The one-shoulder trend isn’t new by any means, and if the NYFW runways are any indication, they’re here to stay awhile. Carolina Herrera, Michael Kors, and Tory Burch were some of the designers proudly flaunting asymmetrical necklines in their Spring 2022 collections.
Off-The-Shoulder

Much like the one-shoulder trend, off-the-shoulder styles allow you to show a bit of skin without being over-the-top. This neckline has been a hit for summer dresses for quite some time, but NYFW designers are ready to kick it up a notch for Fall 2022. Victor Glemaund, Khaite, Markarian, and Christian Siriano were a few of the big names who showcased this style on the runways this year.
Pink, Pink, and More Pink

The Pantone Color of the Year might be Veri Peri, but designers were pulling inspiration from other tones for their 2022 collections. Bright fuchsia and deep raspberry shades filled the runways – and not just on pieces meant for the summer!

Fashion reporters regularly snap pictures of best-dressed pedestrians – and this time, some of those influencers and everyday fashion lovers were rocking bold pink as well.
New Knits

When you think about knits, do you think cardigans and sweaters? Well, New York Fashion Week confirmed that in 2022, knits will go further. Collections from Altuzarra, Gabriela Hearst, Coach, and more featured knit dresses and skirts! This look will be insanely convenient when transitioning from one season to the next. Thank you, designers!
Big Bows

Okay, so not all of the bows were big, but the point is that bows are becoming a statement in women’s clothing again. Batsheva and Jason Wu are a few designers who surprised us by transforming this girly detail into chic sophistication. Don’t believe us? Carolina Herrera’s Fall 2022 collection had no shortage of accent bows (on all kinds of clothing items).
