Take 2018 Wedding Dress Cues from Bridal Fashion Week

Fashion designers shattered old outdated rules about dressing the bride when they unveiled the latest ideas at Bridal Fashion Week for Spring 2018. Then they took successful trends from last year and pushed them to the limit. Are you a daring bride who plans on wearing pants? Do you want to hit a chic note donning the most modern color black as accent or full-on gown? What about outsize earrings or super-sized appliques? Have we got a trend for you.

  1. Over the Top Appliques

Applique wedding dresses continue to rule the runways for 2018, and designers are making them bigger and better than ever. Collections from Berta Bridal to Marchesa feature them prominently.

  1. Pants and More Pants

Oscar de la Renta is just one design house that put brides in pants. Pants at de le Renta were elegantly tailored and adorned with giant bows. Other designers offered pantsuits and jumpsuits.

  1. Capes

Nearly every designer topped a wedding dress with either a cropped capelet or full-length sweeping cape to highlight a princess bride. Many used sheer tulle to give their shoulder coverings a delicate touch. Find capes at Naeem Khan and Allison Webb.

  1. Something Blue

Something old, something new, a wedding dress in baby blue. That’s how designers finished off the old wedding rhyme for Spring 2018. The color was a favorite on the runways. Reem Acra loved the pale shade.

  1. BIG Earrings

Designers adopted this major trend for every other occasion, so why wouldn’t BIG earrings show up in wedding styles? Lela Rose and Naeem Kkan gave us their take on really big earring.

  1. Bridal Black

Remember the old rule that no one wears black to a wedding? Bridesmaids have been breaking it for years, and now the bride can get on board in 2018. Accent with black ribbons, gloves and hairpieces or go for full-on black wedding gowns. Reem Acra is one designer that painted it black.

  1. Feathers

Designers such as Monique L’huillier and Berta Bridal gave us dresses dripping in feathers as their fancy took flight.
