Retro Adds Some Sugar to 2017 Swimwear Spice

Who plans to wow them at the beach in last year’s limp swimwear? Not you! You want sizzle and fireworks, and swimsuit designers have delivered with their brand new 2017 lines. Retro looks add a touch of sweetness to hotness. Trendy styles such as the one-shoulder look make the jump from Fashion Week runways to the seashore boardwalk. Time to show off your beach body and dive in to these swimsuit trends.

High-Waisted Bikinis

What, you have no figure flaws to disguise in the glaring light of the beach? The rest of us love, love, love this retro look for a little help. The classic high-waisted bikini is a style that’s making a timely comeback.

Allihop gives us a form-fitting silhouette in bold floral for a timeless, seaside favorite. This is an Anthropologie exclusive.

One-shoulder Bikini Tops

Off-the-shoulder bikini tops deliver a lot of bang for the buck. The current summer favorite look comes out of the water as a crop top to wear with shorts or jeans.

This top from Anthropologie delivers two of the season’s best look: ruffles and one-shoulder styling. Another bonus: It’s a pullover that features removable padded cups.

Gingham

The girly check is another retro look that comes back around to lend a sweet femininity to your beachwear. The cut determines whether you sizzle or simmer at poolside.

This gingham pairs with another trendy 2017 style that lends some punch: a statement cutout in the center.

Cutouts

Cutouts lend intrigue and spice to swimwear. The detail can be demure or devilish depending on your mood. Try this basic black cutout that’s accented with a thin white pinstripe and styled with bateau neckline.

One-Piece

The one-piece is as basic, classic and necessary as a summer wardrobe staple can get. Get some flirt on by ruffling up a basic one-piece.
