We know. Florals? For spring? Groundbreaking. But when we see more sunshine and the days start to warm, we can’t help but want to incorporate florals into our wardrobes. If you’re looking for some unique and subtle ways to freshen up your wardrobe, then keep reading!
Aw, crop

We’ve seen crop tops all over the place, and they are perfectly flirty for spring. A floral crop is an easy way to work a trendier floral into your wardrobe. With the weather still a little unpredictable, you can opt for a long-sleeved crop top to keep your arms just a touch cozier.
We love the look of a long-sleeved crop top paired with a light-wash short or destructed jeans. Shoes are another fun aspect of the fit. You can go full 90’s and throw on some chunky Doc Martens or, if you prefer a sandal, don’t shy away from a black two-strap slip-on. Of course, a personal favorite of ours is a woven slip-on mule.

Not Your Grandma’s Scarf

A printed vintage scarf is a subtle way to add a touch of floral to any outfit. Check out local thrift stores or hop on Etsy to find the perfect one for all your spring outfits.
We love the idea of starting with a more minimalist look: a high-waisted jean, a pocket tee in your favorite color, and, while you’re at it, give those sleeves a couple of rolls, throw on your Birks, then add that bright, floral vintage scarf to your hair (there are only a million ways to do this). Ta-da! You’ve successfully added florals to your outfit without looking like a whole bouquet. (Unless that’s the look you’re going for – if so, keep reading!)

Aloha to Floral

Move over, mid-west dads, we’re taking Hawaiian print shirts back. A Hawaiian print button-down is a perfect alternative if you’re looking for a less cliche, more kitsch, floral print.
Pair it with high-waisted black skinny jeans and pointed-toe heels for the office, or tuck it into your fave denim shorts with some high-top Converse if you’re going for more of a chill vibe. However you do it, these bold florals are a definite upgrade to the ditsy floral print everyone else will be wearing.

Make a Floral Statement

Statement earrings are going to be huge this spring and summer, so the idea of adding florals by way of some super trendy statement earrings is *chef’s kiss.*
If you’re going for a subtle look, pair your statement earrings with a white statement-sleeve top french-tucked into dark denim paired with strappy sandals. If you like to make some noise with your outfit, opt for a bright, bold maxi dress in an all-over floral print, throw on a heeled sandal and a pair of floral statement earrings, and you will be looking like a floral goddess.

Comin’ in Clutch

A floral clutch or handbag is another subtle way to add some pattern and color to your wardrobe this spring. If you tend to shy away from prints, an accessory allows you to wear florals without actually wearing florals, you know? You can go as big or little, as bright or as neutral as you choose. And the best part? You can pair a floral clutch or handbag with just about anything!
We love to see it with a simple mini dress and flats or, if you’re the queen of layering and mixing prints, try a striped top french-tucked into your favorite jeans, paired with some woven slip-on mules, and topped off with a trench coat. (Okay, Miss Hepburn.)
