We love traveling, but we hate leaving our four-legged friends at home. That’s why we’ve rounded up some of the best pet-friendly travel destinations in the U.S. and what to do there!
Portland, Oregon
If you’re looking for fun in the Pacific Northwest with your pup, consider Portland, Oregon. The city has a long list of parks that allow dogs off-leash, each with different vibes and views.
Beartooth Highway, Montana
Known as the most beautiful road in America, the 68-mile Beartooth Highway stands at 10,947 feet above sea level along the border of Montana and Wyoming, connecting the towns of Red Lodge and Cooke City. This dog-friendly road trip destination (open Memorial Day through mid-October) has many nearby pet-friendly hotels.
Santa Barbara, California

If you are headed to Telluride seeking adventure, bring your doggo. The famous resort destination has a gondola that allows pets on leashes to travel between Telluride and Mountain Village (look for the paw print sticker on the window). AllTrails also lists 26 pet-friendly trails in the area that you can explore with your pup.
Chicago, Illinois
When visiting the Midwest with your dog, Chicago is a must-visit destination. Bring your four-legged friend to Belmont Harbor Dog Beach, Montrose Dog Beach, Chicago Lakefront Trail, or Navy Pier. There are also many pet-friendly bars and restaurants.
