With flu season in full swing, we thought we’d share some of our simple tricks to avoid catching a cold. These easy tips can become daily habits for you and your family. It’s time to enjoy the cold season with a healthy and immune body.
Consume honey
Honey is a great immunity booster because of the antioxidants it contains, which help your body fight diseases. Try to include honey in your daily diet by adding a teaspoon of honey to your morning tea or coffee. Or try enjoying honey and lemon mixed with hot water every night before bed. The vitamin C in the lemon also helps your body resist colds and any other cold-related symptoms.
Use a saline formula in your nose
Keeping your noise moist helps prevent bacteria from getting into your body!
Sleep
We don’t exactly need more reasons to get some good rest every night, but avoiding a cold this upcoming winter season is an excellent reason to start catching more Z’s. Studies show that the less you sleep at night, the lower your resistance to illnesses gets.
If you sleep less than 8 hours a day, you are a lot more likely to develop a weakened immune system, making you more likely to get sick. This may be a perfect reason to start developing a new nighttime routine this upcoming season.
Wash your hands often
Possibly the most effective way to avoid catching a cold is washing your hands regularly or keeping a hand disinfectant nearby at all times. It’s also super important to wash your hands with soap and warm water for at least 1 minute to fully get rid of any bacteria or viruses lurking.
Another great tip is to keep your hands away from your face as much as you can; avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth. Bonus tip: rely on a balanced diet full of fruits and vegetables to stay healthy.
