Easy Spring Cleaning Chores You Can Get Done in a Weekend

Springtime is right around the corner, and you know what that means: It’s time for spring cleaning!

This list of simple chores will help you (and the other people in your abode), get started – and complete your to-do list in no time!

Organize the Refrigerator

Open your fridge and assess. Are there expired goods pushed to the back? To complete this spring cleaning task, take everything out of your refrigerator and thoroughly clean the interior. Then, organize everything inside. Throw away expired items and move older items to the front so you can eat or use them soon. As always, put categorize the items so you know where to find them.

Vacuum Hard-to-Reach Areas

Many people tend to vacuum the visible hardwood floors and carpeted areas, but what about the hard-to-reach spots? Do you remember the last time you cleaned underneath your couch? Probably not. That’s what spring cleaning is for! Get under the furniture and vacuum up all those hidden crumbs, loose dirt particles, and dust ASAP.

Scrub Tile Grout

Shower grout can easily attract mold and mildew buildup. So add scrubbing the tile grout to your spring cleaning checklist! Use a stiff toothbrush and a solution with a gallon of water and a half-cup of chlorine bleach. If your hands are sensitive to chemicals, wear rubber gloves.

Wash Windows and Curtains

Kill two birds with one stone with your window treatments and curtains by stripping the curtains down and tossing them into the dryer on the “cool” setting for 15 minutes. That’ll get rid of all the dust. Then, use a damp microfiber cloth to wipe down your windows, ensuring you leave them streak-free. Tip: Don’t let your curtains sit for too long in the dryer, or they will get wrinkled!

Wipe Down Walls

You don’t need a new coat of paint; your walls just need a good cleaning! Get ahead of spring allergies by wiping down the walls with a damp microfiber cloth or mop. Start dusting from top to bottom, and include the door frames and baseboards while you’re at it. This will take care of dirt, debris, grease, and stains of all shapes and sizes. Stains? Use a magic eraser!
