A marriage proposal can be as simple as a greeting at the door after a hard day’s work or as elaborate as popping the question on a football stadium jumbotron. Some of the most romantic proposals ever are found in a new thread on the secret sharing app Whisper. The magic of romance was in the air for these loving couples whether he popped the question on the Harry Potter set or signed for the very first time to his deaf partner. Here are the ways some inspired lovers found to ask those four little words— “Will you marry me?”

“He slipped the ring onto my finger in my sleep and proposed when I woke up. I said yes!!!”

“I’ve always stuttered my whole life. Yesterday I proposed to the woman I love without any stammering.”
