No Love Lost: How To Get Rid of Unwanted Love Handles

With a quintessential name like “love handles”, you’d think it’d be something everyone would want to sport on their bodies, but it’s in fact the exact opposite. Love handles is that extra cushion on both sides of the belly that kind of look like handles from a tea cup. They totally kill any hour glass figure look you may be shooting for. That’s why most people want to get rid of them.

But, getting rid of them is no easy feat. You need a great combination of diet and fitness to help you lose that extra fat. Take a look at the tips below on how to get down to the bottom of love handles, courtesy of Men’s Fitness:

Diet Tips

One of the things you want to do that may seem like the opposite of what you should do is not cut your carbs. Healthy complex carbs keep your metabolism simulated, which gives your body long-lasting energy.

You will want to focus on eating healthy fats. Pick foods like avocados, nuts, seeds and fatty fish. Other things you want to do is drink plenty of water, eat green veggies, and limit dairy.

Workout Tips

Many people may not know this, but doing a combination of workouts such as lifts, squats, hang cleans and thrusters will help build lean muscle mass – especially in the midsection area.

The best workout plan would include total-body strength training, cardio and rest.
